PFDA Public Advisory 04-2024: MISTAGGING OF PFDA-NFPC AS A VENUE OF A FISHFIGHT
Released May 27, 2024
It has come to our attention that a certain Facebook user named “Benjamin Addun” has uploaded a Facebook reel wherein two shirtless men are seen in a fistfight that has “Navotas Fish Port” in the video caption. As of writing, the said reel has garnered 2.6 million views, 20.7k likes, 1.5k comments, and 4.2k shares.
Upon verification with the concerned unit, it has been confirmed that the fistfight did not occur within the vicinity of the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority - Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC). This can be verified in the layout of the food stalls and the attire of the bystanders in the video.
The PFDA strongly condemns purveyors of fake news and misinformation that could affect the Agency and its longstanding reputation of promoting peace and harmony within its community.
Moreover, the PFDA and its Regional Fish Ports (RFP) do not tolerate any form of violence and abuse.
Should anyone encounter issues of similar nature, kindly report this immediately to the PFDA Public Information Division at telephone number (02) 8925-6139 or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for appropriate action.
