Philippine Fisheries Development Authority - Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) showcased the vital role of the fisheries sector of Navotas City during the 6th Senior High School Research Congress at the Osmeña Hall of the Life Sciences Building, De La Salle Araneta University, Potrero, Malabon City, on April 15, 2025.

The event carried the theme, "Cultivating and Sustaining CaMaNaVa Cultural and Historical Heritage through Research" which promotes an understanding and appreciation of the cultural and historical heritage of the Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Malabon (CaMaNaVa).

Representing PFDA-NFPC Port Manager Ms. Luz P. Ortiz, Mr. Marvin O. Lorenzo of the Harbor Operations Division served as a plenary speaker, presenting “Navotas: The Fishing Capital of the Philippines.” His talk highlighted the significance of the fishing industry in Navotas City and its vital contribution to the CaMaNaVa area.

Moreover, Mr. Lorenzo highlighted the laws which created the PFDA, its brief history, its mandate and core programs, the Regional Fish Ports (RFP) managed by the agency, and the ongoing rehabilitation and improvement projects in the PFDA-NFPC being its premier fish port. 

The research congress was hosted by De La Salle Araneta University - Integrated School (DLSAU-IS), in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the Kalookan Diocese Schools Association (KADSA). 

250 Senior High School students from De La Salle Araneta University, Adamson University, University of the East, St. James Academy, and San Jose Academy attended the research congress.
