All commercial fishing vessels (CRVs) at the PFDA - Lucena Fish Port Complex (LFPC) have been directed to transfer to the newly constructed Multi-Purpose Pier No. 2 (MPP-2) starting September 1.
The older Multi-Purpose Pier No. 1 will be subjected to immediate repair and rehabilitation once cleared of CRVs.
A meeting with all the concerned fishing boat operators in PFDA-LFPC was undertaken prior to the said transfer.
The new MPP-2 was completed in record time of just six months despite the quarantine restrictions brought about by the pandemic.
The construction of MPP-2 is considered the first component to be completed under the expansion and rehabilitation project of the Lucena Fish Port Complex which began last January.
The expansion and rehabilitation of the entire fish port complex is set to be completed in 2023.

Port Manager Custodio L. Balaoing, Jr. and Officer-in-Charge of PFDA-LFPC - Port Maintenance and Refrigeration Division Engr. Jan Michael Rafael served as guests in the said program.
The officers from PFDA-LFPC were interviewed regarding the core missions and functions of Philippine Fisheries Development Authority as an agency.
The ongoing expansion and rehabilitation project of PFDA-LFPC was also talked about in the interview.
