PFDA Weekly Briefer for August 9 to 15, 2021 period

Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) Regional Fish Ports (RFPs) have registered a significant increase in their overall weekly fish unloading volume amidst wide-range quarantine protocols against the spread of the COVID-19 virus, according to a two-week comparative report collected by the Operations Services Department (OSD). 

During the August 9 to 15, 2021 unloading period, PFDA RFPs unloaded 8,483.87 metric tons (MT) of fish which is equivalent to a 40.15 percent increase compared to the total volume of fish delivered from the previous week.  

Based on the report, leading this week’s record are PFDA – General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSFPC) with 3,747.02 MT (64.77% increase) and PFDA – Bulan Fish Port Complex (PFDA-BFPC) with 156.17 MT (106.41% increase).

In addition, despite being still under the harshest quarantine protocol, PFDA – Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) maintained a two-week positive streak after unloading a total of 3,364.79 MT of fish, or equal to a 32.95% increase. 

PFDA – Iloilo Fish Port Complex (PFDA-IFPC), which was also under ECQ, improved its weekly unloading volume by 0.30%, reaching a total of 490.32 MT of available fish for all its consumers. 

Moreover, PFDA – Lucena Fish Port Complex (PFDA-LFPC) recorded 392.50 MT of unloading fish (31.85%) after the province was put under GCQ with heightened restrictions for more than a week. 

Finally, PFDA – Davao Fish Port Complex (PFDA-DFPC) quadrupled its weekly unloading volume after recording 107.56 MT of fish.
