Philippine Fisheries Development Authority - Iloilo Fish Port Complex (PFDA-IFPC) in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region VI conducted a Fire Prevention and Protection Seminar and Fire Drill on April 30, 2025. 

The activity aims to enhance awareness, preparedness, and response capabilities of participants in the event of a fire emergency. 

The seminar covered essential topics including introduction to Fire Safety (Elements, Classes, Stages, and Causes of Fire), Methods of Extinguishment, Fire Prevention Measures, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Hands-On Training on Fire Extinguisher Use (PASS method), and Basic Fire Suppression Techniques.

Following the lecture, a simulated fire drill was conducted, during which the teams effectively carried out their roles with efficiency and coordination. 

The PFDA-IFPC Fire Brigade/Response Team was also formed, headed by Port Manager Jovy M. Garrido, with Chief of Harbor Market Operations Division Dr. Justo Anaquita Jr. as the assistant. BFP-Region V1 Senior Fire Officer 3 (SFO3) Ms. Genialyn U David and Fire Officer 2 (FO2) Mr. Jason P Buenaventura served as the resource speakers for the one-day activity.
