Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) received a Freedom of Information Certificate of Compliance for 2022 from the Freedom of Information - Program Management Office (FOI-PMO) under the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on November 28, 2023. 

This certificate affirms the PFDA’s commitment in promoting transparency by providing its clients, stakeholders, industry partners, and the public with easy access to information about the agency’s programs, projects, and necessary data related to the agency’s mandate. 

The FOI Program, enabled via Executive Order No. 2, series of 2016, is the Government’s response to the call for transparency and full public disclosure of information. FOI is a government mechanism, which allows Filipino citizens to request any information about government transactions and operations, provided that it shall not put into jeopardy any privacy and matters of national security.

To accommodate all requests and queries online, the PFDA has designated FOI Receiving Officers and Decision Makers who respond immediately to information requests from external agencies, groups, and organizations.
