Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) received a Certificate of Compliance awarded by the Freedom of Information - Program Management Office (FOI-PMO) of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) for fully satisfying the set of enhanced Freedom of Information (FOI) requirements in 2021, awarded on November 14, 2022.

This certificate validates the agency’s commitment to provide unhampered services and quality products and keep up with the information needs of all clients, stakeholders, and interested parties despite the pandemic and severe weather conditions.

The FOI Program is the national government’s response to the call for transparency and full public disclosure of information. FOI is a government mechanism, which allows Filipino citizens to request any information about government transactions and operations, provided that it shall not put into jeopardy – privacy and matters of national security.
