Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), in coordination with the TÜV Rheinland, conducted a two-day Internal Audit Course for ISO 9001:2015 standard in accordance with ISO 19011:2018 Management System Auditing Guidelines held at the PFDA Central Office Conference Room and via teleconference on October 24 to 25, 2022.
Organized by the PFDA – Internal Audit Department (PFDA-IAD), the two-day training is part of the capability-building program for the Internal Quality Audit (IQA) Team of the Central Office and the PFDA – Zamboanga Fish Port Complex (PFDA-ZFPC).
In addition, this course aims to enhance their skills and competency in terms of Internal Quality Audit on Quality Management System (QMS) based on the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and guidelines of ISO 19011:2018.
In her opening message, Quality Management Representative (QMR) and Corporate Planning and MIS Department Manager Ms. Gina J. Reyes encouraged all IQA members “to give full attention during the training because this is a great opportunity to strengthen the agency’s QMS.”
Mr. Christopher M. Adlawan of the TÜV Rheinland Philippines Inc. served as the resource speaker during the two-day Internal Audit Course. Participants understood and applied key updates of ISO 19011:2018 on auditing principles. They also learned about the design, implementation, and review of internal auditing. Mr. Adlawan also discussed an overview of Risk Management for Quality Management System and Root Cause Analysis during the training.
At the end of the two-day training, Mr. Adlawan gave a post-examination to IQA Team members, officially recognizing them as Internal Quality Auditors who can properly and efficiently conduct internal audits on the agency’s QMS.
PFDA Officer-in-Charge General Manager Ms. Iris R. de Vera awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Adlawan for his invaluable time as the resource speaker.
