Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) kicks off the week-long celebration of its 46th Anniversary with the theme “Nagkakaisang PFDA Tungo sa Mas Pinalakas na Sektor ng Pangisdaan” on August 8, 2022.
Officer-in-Charge General Manager (OICGM) Ms. Iris R. de Vera welcomed everyone who attended the program which was in conjunction with the return of the agency’s weekly flag raising ceremony.
“Ngayong araw ay isang pagdiriwang ng isang matagumpay na anibersaryo ng ating ahensya… For the past two years, naramdaman natin ang takot dahil sa banta ng COVID-19 pandemic, but in spite of that, naging matatag tayo at tinupad natin ang ating tungkulin sa pagtulong sa sektor ng pangisdaan. Binuksan natin ang ating ahensya at nagpatuloy tayo magbigay ng serbisyo para makatulong tayo sa sektor at masiguro ang suplay ng isda sa merkado… Kung tayo ay sama-sama, nagkakaisa, at nagtutulungan, walang imposible. Kaya nating gawin ang lahat,” OICGM de Vera said.
OICGM de Vera thanked everyone in the PFDA Central Office and Regional Fish Ports for their dedication and hard work. She hopes for constant unity within the agency to continue its objective of assisting the fisheries sector.
Meanwhile, Mr. Miguel M. Pilarta, Subcommittee on Programs and Production Head, presented the activity for the week, highlighting the main program on August 11 which will be held simultaneously at the PCA Auditorium and via livestream.
Lastly, as Mr. Mc Christian Julius A. Macaranas II, Anniversary Committee Head and Public Information Division Chief closed the program, he said that this event is significantly memorable because the agency is finally doing a blended (physical and livestream) anniversary celebration following the restrictions brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Macaranas said that he is hopeful that the agency will eventually go back in full swing, armed with more knowledge and a better perspective in life.
After the program, all staff and personnel from the PFDA Central Office enjoyed all the food and games during the back-to-school-themed anniversary kickoff celebration.
