PFDA Weekly Briefer for the September 6 to 12, 2021 unloading period

Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), through its Regional Fish Ports (RFP), has regained its 10K fish unloading mark despite dangerous weather conditions brought by Typhoons Jolina and Kiko during the September 6 to 12, 2021 unloading period. 

According to a two-week comparative report collected by the Operations Services Department (OSD), all PFDA RFPs managed to deliver an aggregate weekly fish unloading volume of 10,065.42 metric tons (MT), or equivalent to a two-week streak increase of 5.85 percent. 

Leading this week’s volume are PFDA – General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSFPC) and PFDA – Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC). In the face of two extreme weather conditions, the ports managed to unload 6,248.74 MT (17.27% increase) and 2,405.33 MT (7.77% increase), respectively. 

In addition, PFDA – Sual Fish Port (PFDA-SFP) also showed its resiliency to deliver an adequate volume of fish to its consumers after unloading 74.55 MT, a 2.50% increase compared to last week’s record. 

As of September 12, 2021, all PFDA RFPs have unloaded a total of 832,245.16 MT of fish since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
