The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) and Zamboanga Fish Port Complex (ZFPC), one of the nine (9) regional fish ports (RFPs) under the management of PFDA, have received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 certification.
To date, 5 PFDA RFPs are now ISO 9001: 2015 certified including Navotas Fish Port Complex (NFPC), General Santos Fish Port Complex (GSFPC), Davao Fish Port Complex (DFPC), Lucena Fish Port Complex (LFPC), and Iloilo Fish Port Complex (IFPC) which received their certifications in 2018.
According to the ISO website, the award of the certification demonstrates “the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements”.
The PFDA has passed the accreditation process and attained its ISO 9001:2015 certification as the agency successfully complied with the requirements for quality management systems.
The ISO 9001:2015 is focused on risk-based thinking wherein “organizations are now encouraged to use risk analysis in order to address challenges in their business processes,” besides meeting customers’ expectations and satisfaction. (Public Information Division)
