Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) Regional Fish Ports (RFP) unloaded 54,602.36 metric tons (MT) of fish for the month of April 2025.
On a year-on-year comparison, the PFDA - Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) managed to deliver 25,638.68 MT of fish (9.8% increase), the highest-recorded fish unloading volume for the month.
Subsequently, the PFDA - General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSFPC) experienced a decline in its monthly fish unloading volume but was still able to deliver an impressive 21,982.81 MT of fish.
Moreover, the PFDA - Iloilo Fish Port Complex (PFDA-IFPC) managed to supply 2,417.10 MT of fish amid a small setback.
On the other hand, the PFDA - Bulan Fish Port Complex (PFDA-BFPC) and the PFDA - Lucena Fish Port Complex (PFDA-LFPC) saw a slight decline in their April fish unloading. Nevertheless, the two Luzon ports unloaded 2,038.75 MT and 1,878.48MT of fish, respectively.
On the other hand, the PFDA – Zamboanga Fish Port Complex (PFDA-ZFPC) and the PFDA – Davao Fish Port Complex (PFDA-DFPC) still managed to provide sufficient fish supply to their respective clients. The Mindanao ports supplied 391.30 MT and 255.24 MT of fish, respectively.
Despite changes in weather and marine conditions and seasonal fluctuations that affect fishing activities in major fishing grounds nationwide, the PFDA RFPs are consistently doing their best to provide sufficient and affordable fishery products to its clients and stakeholders.
