The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) organized a seminar on Mental Health and Productivity on April 2 and 3, 2025 at the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Auditorium in Diliman, Quezon City. The seminar featured the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) as the resource organization.
The seminar aimed to highlight the link between mental well-being and productivity, encourage proactive mental health practices, equip personnel with tools and techniques to manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges, and foster an open and supportive culture where discussing mental health is normalized and free of stigma.
Key topics covered included the importance of positive mental health in the workplace, recognizing signs of good mental health, common mental health issues and their impact on productivity, factors influencing mental well-being at work, and the significance of having support systems for maintaining mental health.
Ms. Reena Mae C. Ibanez from the NWPC served as the resource speaker and led the discussions.
To strengthen the learning experience, attendees joined two interactive activities: a word hunt with a personal sharing segment on hobbies that support mental wellness, and a role-play performance demonstrating effective responses to various mental health issues in the workplace.
A combined total of 156 PFDA-Central Office personnel (78 females and 78 males) participated in the seminar.
