Ten personnel from the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority – General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSFPC) visited the PFDA – Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) and conducted an immersive tour around the fish port on March 23, 2025.

The one-day immersion aims to provide the visiting PFDA-GSFPC personnel with the understanding of the PDA-NFPC’s harbor and market operations and its information technology (IT) systems.

The PFDA-NFPC team, led by Market Operations Division (MOD) Officer-in-Charge Ms. Cerespink A. Aguila, together with staff from the Harbor Operations Division (HOD), toured the PFDA-GSFPC personnel around the port and visited various facilities including the PFDA-NFPC’s existing market halls, new modern market halls, piers, and the Administration Building’s One-Stop Center.

Ms. Aguila informed the visiting team of the PFDA-NFPC’s existing facilities, the challenges faced by the port, and the ongoing port rehabilitation and development activities. Moreover, the GSFPC personnel were accompanied by HOD personnel in the PFDA-NFPC Market Halls 1 and 2 to observe fish unloading activities during night-time operations. Afterwards, the utilization of the current IT systems was also shown to the GSFPC personnel.

Standing as the two largest PFDA Regional Fish Ports with the highest monthly unloading records, this immersive experience could grow to future collaborations between the two ports.
