Philippine Fisheries Development Authority - Lucena Fish Port Complex (PFDA-LFPC) was officially awarded the Mother-Baby Friendly Workplace Certifications by the Department of Health (DOH) Center for Health CaLaBaRZon on February 5, 2025.

As a part of the PFDA-LFPC’s Gender and Development (GAD) activities, this achievement is in recognition of the fish port’s effort in providing a dedicated and supportive space for breastfeeding mothers by opening a lactation room  which was launched last August 29, 2024. 

The lactation room is available to nursing mothers who are in need of a quiet and comfortable space to breastfeed. This demonstrates the PFDA-LFPC’s support in the health and well-being of mothers in the workplace, aligned with the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009 (Republic Act No. 10028).
