Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Mr. Francisco "Kiko" P. Tiu Laurel, Jr. and Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) Acting General Manager Atty. Glen A. Pangapalan joined the inauguration of the new FG Cold Storage Corporation at the PFDA - Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) Grounds, on October 11, 2024.

The FG Cold Storage Corporation, which is part of the Frabelle Group of Companies, has been a long-term client of PFDA-NFPC. It operates full service cold storage facilities which are strategically located near major ports and highways within the Greater Metropolitan Area.
In addition, this new FG cold storage facility in PFDA-NFPC would cater to more food manufacturers, processors, traders, and restaurants, ensuring their valued inventory ranging from fruits, vegetables, seafood, meat, poultry, and processed food products are kept fresh and in excellent condition.

This partnership is part of the PFDA's aim to strengthen its ties with the private sector. As a government-owned and -controlled corporation (GOCC), the PFDA believes that collaborations like this can benefit the public sector because they can reduce costs, improve services, and generate additional revenue.
PFDA-NFPC Port Manager Ms. Luz P. Ortiz and other PFDA-NFPC officials, together with PFDA Operations Services Department Officer-in-Charge Mr. Mc Christian Julius A. Macaranas II, and Public Information Division Officer-in-Charge Mr. Miguel M. Pilarta also attended the inauguration ceremony.
