In addition, the PFDA - Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) also managed to amass the second-highest volume of unloading with 15,809.70 MT of fish despite weather disturbances and the onset of the lean season.
On the other hand, the PFDA – Iloilo Fish Port Complex (PFDA-IFPC) experienced a minor setback caused by prolonged weather disturbance in the Western Visayas area. Nevertheless, the Iloilo port delivered 2,724.86 MT of fish.
Due to the combined effects of typhoon activity and the Habagat season, which affected fishing operations, the PFDA - Lucena Fish Port Complex (PFDA-LFPC) also faced a minor slump but still gathered 1,669.05 MT of fish. Additionally, July to September is the lean fishing season in Tayabas Bay.
The PFDA - Bulan Fish Port Complex (PFDA-BFPC) also experienced inclement weather conditions brought by local thunderstorms and low-pressure areas but still distributed 1,328.10 MT of fish.
The PFDA - Zamboanga Fish Port Complex (PFDA-ZFPC) also experienced a slight slowdown due to inclement weather conditions and the decrease in the arrival of commercial fishing vessels and municipal fishing boats/bancas. Still, they managed to unload 944.27 MT of fish.
Even with the closed fishing season in the Davao Gulf, the PFDA - Davao Fish Port Complex (PFDA-DFPC) delivered 123.783 MT of fish. The closed fishing season ended on August 31, 2024.
Due to bad weather in their fishing ground in the West Philippine Sea, the PFDA - Sual Fish Port (PFDA-SFP) faced a slight setback but still managed to collect 35.7 MT of fish.
Lastly, Camaligan Fish Port (PFDA-CFP) was able to deliver 0.21 MT of fish due to weather disturbances throughout August 2024.
Amid inclement weather and closed fishing season, the PFDA RFPs remain committed to providing clients and stakeholders with a steady supply of fishery products.
