Philippine Fisheries Development Authority - Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) welcomed a team from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in the learning session on the collection, recording, and processing of fish unloading data of the port,on August 20, 2024 at the PFDA-NFPC Gender and Development (GAD) Building.
PFDA-NFPC Market Operations Division Officer-in-Charge Ms. Cerespink A. Aguila led the learning session orientation which highlighted the Harbor and Market Operations. Ms. Aguila discussed the overview of the PFDA-NFPC. Furthermore, she elaborated on how the PFDA-NFPC gathers data from daily fish unloading inside the port.
Moreover, Ms. Aguila discussed the forms and documents used by market checkers during port operations and how the data gathered are synched to the PFDA’s Modified Incorporated Corporate Reporting System (MICRS)
Chief Statistical Specialist Ms. Reinelda P. Adriano, Senior Statistical Specialist Ms. Lunesa A. Mojica, Statistical Specialist Ms. Jelany A. Manonday, and Statistical Analyst Ms. Josephine S. Santos from the PSA - Fisheries Statistics Division attended the orientation.
Afterwards, the PSA visiting team together with the PFDA-NFPC team toured around Market Halls 1 and 2 to observe the actual data collection of market checkers and the actual fish unloading activities of PFDA-NFPC clients.
The last part of the learning session tackled the recording and encoding of market checkers and the generation of reports, which are processed, completed, and verified digitally.
PFDA-NFPC’s Overall Nighttime Supervisor Ms. Nenita Lanceta and Overall Daytime Supervisor Ms. Joyce E. Velasquez also assisted the PSA visiting team during the one-day learning session.
