Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) celebrated its 48th anniversary with the theme, “Leveling up the Fishing Industry towards a Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas”, at the National Food Authority (NFA) Penthouse, Visayas Avenue, Quezon City, on August 9, 2024.
Established on August 11, 1976, the PFDA continuously leveled up the fishing industry in the Philippines by providing strong fishery post-harvest facilities nationwide. This year’s retro, pixel, and video game-themed occasion emphasized the Agency’s continuous level up, not just in the fishing industry, but also in boosting the country’s economic and national growth.
The week-long celebration started with a kickoff program held at the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Covered Court on August 6, 2024. Organized by Sandigan-Lakas ng mga Kawaning Bayan ng PFDA (SALAKAB-PFDA), this year’s sportsfest was quite unique with the theme “Palarong Pambata”, aimed at encouraging personnel of all ages to participate in the classic Filipino childhood games as an alternative to physically demanding sports.
