June PFDA 2024 Monthly Briefer v2

Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) Regional Fish Ports (RFP) amassed 59,259.88 metric tons (MT) of fish for all their clients and stakeholders in the month of June 2024.

With a 25.63% increase, the PFDA – Sual Fish Port (PFDA-SFP) delivered 105.85 MT of fish this month. Also, the PFDA – Zamboanga Fish Port Complex showed a positive performance with an increase of 2.92%, turning over 925.995 MT of fish.

Meanwhile, the PFDA – General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSPFC) experienced a slight setback in its monthly fish unloading volume. Even so, the southernmost RFP delivered a staggering volume of 29,635.67 MT of fish.

At the same time, the first and the biggest PFDA RFP in Luzon, the PFDA – Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC), unloaded a significant volume of 21,792.80 MT of fish.

Due to the start of the ‘Habagat’ season, the PFDA - Iloilo Fish Port Complex (PFDA-IFPC) saw a slight decrease in the delivery of fish this June with 2,505.30 MT of fish. On the other hand, the PFDA - Bulan Fish Port Complex (PFDA-BFPC) also saw a small decline and unloaded 2,308.75 MT of fish.

Subsequently, amid inclement weather conditions in June, the PFDA – Lucena Fish Port Complex (PFDA-LFPC) and the PFDA – Camaligan Fish Port (PFDA-CFP) were able to deliver 1,794.20 MT and 0.21 MT of fish, respectively, to their respective customers.

Moreover, following a three-month implementation of a closed fishing season in Davao Gulf from June 1 to August 31, 2024, the PFDA – Davao Fish Port Complex (PFDA-DFPC) unloaded a much-needed 1,794.20 MT of fish.

Despite some setbacks due to weather and closed fishing season, the PFDA and its RFPs are consistently doing their best to provide sufficient and affordable fishery products to its clients and stakeholders.
