PFDA Agency News 07022024 PFDA employees upgrade communication skills through technical writing workshop

Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) employees upgraded their communication competency in a workshop on improving technical writing skills on June 25 to 27, 2024 at the University of the Philippines Institute of Small-Scale Industries (UP-ISSI), Diliman, Quezon City. 

Thirty-five participants from the PFDA Central Office (CO) and Regional Fish Ports (RFP) actively participated in the three-day seminar, where they improved their technical writing skills and ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.

UP-ISSI University Extension Specialist Mx. Jake A. Villanueva was the resource speaker during the three-day writing session. They discussed various topics, including an introduction to technical writing, different types of technical writing, understanding the audience, and planning and organizing technical documents. 

Moreover, Mx. Villanueva elaborated on writing effective sentences, using technical vocabulary, editing and proofreading techniques, and formatting in technical writing. 

The PFDA Administrative Services Department – Human Resources Division organized the three-day orientation.
