Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), through its Human Resource Division (HRD), organized a two-day Onboarding Development Program for new employees in CY 2024 to boost company culture and workplace camaraderie.
This year's reintroduction of the onboarding program aims to familiarize the new PFDA personnel with their roles, the organization, the people, and the Agency's culture.
On May 28, 2024, fifty-one newly hired employees of the PFDA Central Office (CO) and Regional Fish Ports (RFP) actively participated in the orientation. The program covered topics such as the PFDA's background; norms of conduct of public officials and employees; office decorum; personnel conduct and safety; attendance and other office policies; and strategic planning and targets, IT policies, and flagship programs.
Meanwhile, on May 29, 2024, PFDA-CO new hires visited the PFDA—Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) for an operating unit tour.
During the tour, they learned more about the main functions and operations of the port's Harbor Operations Division and Market Operations Division. Afterward, they had a quick tour around the port and explored the ongoing rehabilitation projects in PFDA-NFPC.
