Philippine Fisheries Development Authority – Internal Audit Department (PFDA-IAD) attended the 9th Forum for Heads of Internal Audit Service/Office (HIAS/O) in the Public Sector on May 10, 2024, in Seda Vertis North, Quezon City.
Organized by the Association of Government Internal Auditors, Inc. (AGIA), this year’s forum bears the theme: “Future-Proofing Internal Audit: Harnessing Emerging Technologies and Adapting to Organizational Changes”.
This forum is consistent with the mandate and commitment of AGIA in delivering and providing continuing professional development to its members. During the conference, distinguished resource speakers discussed timely and relevant topics on the strategic transformation of internal auditing practices from the pandemic times to the present.
Moreover, the technical sessions tackled various topics, including Global Internal Audit Standards and Emerging Technologies and the Revised Guidelines on the Organization and Staffing of an Internal Audit Unit (IAU) in Departments, Agencies, SUCs, GOCCs/GIFS, and LGUs.
The one-day annual gathering is an avenue for sharing information, experiences, and challenges in transforming internal auditing in the public sector.
PFDA-IAD Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Ms. Brenda T. Malapira, IAD-Operations Audit Division OIC Ms. Dinah D. Icalla, and Ms. Rose Ann G. Mendoza represented the agency during the forum.
