PFDA Weekly Briefer for the July 12 to 18, 2021 Period

Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) Regional Fish Ports (RFP) delivered 12,315.63 metric tons (MT) of fishery products available to all customers nationwide during the July 12 to 18, 2021 unloading period. 

According to a two-week comparative report gathered by the Operations Services Department (OSD), the aggregate weekly fish unloading across all PFDA RFPs experienced a slim decline of 7.86 percent in mid-July. 

Despite the slight drop, PFDA – Davao Fish Port Complex (PFDA-DFPC) unloaded 125.78 MT of fish or equivalent to a 78.76% increase compared to its previous week unloading. Subsequently, PFDA – Zamboanga Fish Port Complex (PFDA-ZFPC) also recorded a significant increase in its weekly fish unloading volume totaling 69.99% (257.55 MT). 

On the other hand, PFDA – General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSFPC) and PFDA – Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) both suffered a blow in this week’s unloading period. Nevertheless, these powerhouse fish ports managed to unload two of the highest volumes for the week at 5,880.95 MT and 3,426.67 MT, respectively. 

Meanwhile, PFDA – Bulan Fish Port Complex (PFDA-BFPC) continues to ride the positive trend with a 0.22% increase or equal to 1,546.92 MT of fish. 

In addition, PFDA – Lucena Fish Port Complex recorded an increase of 2.90% (477.13 MT) in weekly unloading for the third consecutive time.
