PFDA conducts blessing and ribbon-cutting of isDA ON THE GO reefer vans at PFDA-NFPC grounds |
Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) conducted the blessing and ribbon-cutting of 15 new isDA ON THE GO (iOTG) reefer vans, held at the grounds of PFDA - Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) on July 16, 2021.
The iOTG is PFDA's flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project which aims to transport low-cost fresh-frozen fishery products to consumers. In addition, this distribution of iOTG trucks is part of the agency's expansion project to extend the delivery of adequate fishery products nationwide through the agency's Regional Fish Ports (RFPs).

According to Acting Assistant General Manager Ms. Iris R. de Vera, the PFDA also accumulated chest freezers besides these reefer vans. She added that if the budget for 2022 is approved, the agency will have a P90-million worth of project for this same endeavor.
"The main objective of the iOTG project is to distribute affordable fish in Metro Manila and other deficit areas and ensure sufficiency of fish supply in these areas. We are encouraging everyone to work as one in this effort to enhance the operations of iOTG," AGM de Vera said.
Each insulated truck can carry a net weight of 1.6 tons of fish. These trucks are equipped with state-of-the-art devices including a high-powered cooling system, emergency button, and reverse camera, among others, to ensure not only the quality of the products but also the safety of the delivery team.

Ortiz, members of Eco-Friendly Women of Navotas, and members of the iOTG team from NFPC and Central Office were also present in the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
