Weekly Briefer for the June 28 to July 4, 2021 Period

Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) Regional Fish Ports (RFP) significantly recovered from last week’s fish unloading decline after registering a 27.79 percent increase, equivalent to 11,326.17 metric tons (MT) of fish, during the June 28 to July 4, 2021 period. 

According to a two-week comparative report prepared by the Operations Services Department (OSD), PFDA – Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) and PFDA – Lucena Fish Port Complex (PFDA-LFPC) has the most significant recovery compared to last week’s unloading slump. Based on record, PFDA-NFPC and PFDA-LFPC recorded 3,751.90 MT (40.36% increase) and 414.48 MT (84.47% increase), respectively.

On the other hand, PFDA – General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSFPC) also exhibited an upturn in its fish unloading record with 4,963.20 MT or a 29.60% increase, in contrast to a substantial drop from the previous week. 

In addition, PFDA – Bulan Fish Port Complex continues to tread water with another positive unloading record of 1,543.53 (0.02%). Not far behind is PFDA – Sual Fish Port (PFDA-SFP) who also maintained a positive unloading streak of 54.53%, equivalent to 54.95 MT of fish. 

Moreover, PFDA – Iloilo Fish Port Complex (PFDA-IFPC) and PFDA – Zamboanga Fish Port Complex (PFDA-ZFPC) were also among the fish ports that notably recuperated from last week’s dip with 461.51 MT (29.68%) and 108.65 MT (3.31%), respectively.
