The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority – General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSFPC) unloaded 5,703.74 metric tons (MT) of fish or 15.37 percent more on May 21-27, 2021, as compared to last week’s unloading record.
In a centralized fish unloading report collated by PFDA RFPs, Operations Services Department (OSD), and Public Information Division (PID), PFDA-GSFPC is making significant progress again after successfully recovering from weeks of decline caused by Tropical Storm Crising which hit land on May 13.
Of this total, skipjack (gulyasan) recorded the highest unloading with a total of 1,049.12 MT. Skipjack (sambangon), bisugo, yellowfin tuna, and galunggong (frozen) were also on the list of the top five fish species with the highest availability of supply.
Now that the port is gaining momentum once again, PFDA-GSFPC aims to continue this positive shift and deliver more fish to all its clients and stakeholders in the coming weeks.
