PFDA-NFPC marks another week of high fish unloading volume

As Metro Manila and four nearby provinces shift to GCQ with heightened restrictions, Philippine Fisheries Development – Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) marked another week of high fish unloading during the May 17-23, 2021 period.

According to a PFDA Regional Fish Ports (RFPs) monitoring report by the Operations Services Department (OSD), PFDA-NFPC has recorded 4,000.79 metric tons (MT) of fish supply readily available for its clients and stakeholders in the Metro and selected areas in Luzon.

In addition, records showed that this volume is the highest volume unloaded by the port in May.

Galunggong (fresh) maintained its position as the number one fish species with the highest supply, followed by bangus, sardines, tilapia, and shellfish.

With less stringent COVID-19 restrictions in place, PFDA-NFPC will continue its collective effort to maintain a high volume of unloaded fish products until the end of the month to surpass last quarter’s unloading record.
