PFDA RFPs weekly fish unloading volume for May 3 to 9, 2021 period and volume of fish sold at isDA ON THE GO (iOTG) outlets as of May 11, 2021 |
Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) has capped off another week with a positive fish unloading streak after recording 12,953.64 metric tons (MT) of unloaded fish supply through the agency’s Regional Fish Ports (RFP) during the May 3 to 9, 2021 period.
According to a two-week comparative report from the Operations Services Department (OSD), this week’s record is a 4.02% jump from last week’s unloading supply. By far, this is the highest volume to be ever recorded since the start of the second quarter of the year.
The top-performing ports for the week were General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSFPC) with an 11.08% increase equivalent to 7,160.46 MT and Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) with a 7.54% growth or 3,581.29 MT.
Subsequently, also maintaining its positive streak is Lucena Fish Port Complex (PFDA-LFPC) with 373.42 MT (23.82%) of unloaded fish supply.
In addition, Zamboanga Fish Port Complex (PFDA-ZFPC) and Sual Fish Port (PFDA-SFP) continued to provide their stakeholders with enough fish supply after unloading 110.92 MT (32.44%) and 38.53 (46.78%), respectively.
Meanwhile, Iloilo Fish Port Complex (PFDA-IFPC) recovered from last week’s negative trend and unloaded 478.73 MT of fish (18%).
On the other hand, Bulan Fish Port Complex (PFDA-BFPC) tumbled a bit this week but still managed to unload 1,178.16 MT of fish.
In connection to this week’s increase in unloading supply, PFDA’s isDA ON THE GO (iOTG) Project continues to deliver affordable fishery products to its consumers within Metro Manila and selected areas in Luzon.
As of May 9, the agency’s iOTG project has already sold a total of 113,311.97 kilograms of affordable fish and fishery products and has served more than 387,274 families since the pandemic began in March 2020.
