Philippine Fisheries Development Authority – Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) is rowing at full speed to deliver quality and adequate fish supply through its fish traders and buyers to various markets and locations in the National Capital Region and some parts of Central and South Luzon.

Based on a centralized PFDA RFPs fish unloading report put together by the Operations Services Department (OSD) and Public Information Division (PID), PFDA-NFPC has unloaded 2,728.51 metric tons of fish during the May 1 - 6, 2021 period, a slight but significant increase of almost 2% compared from last week’s volume.

This week, sardines took the top spot as the number one fish species with the highest unloading volume, registering 1,028.36 MT, followed by galunggong (800.48 MT), bangus (549.68 MT), tilapia (208.8 MT), and tulingan (104.88 MT).

As all port operations go back to normal, PFDA-NFPC will make sure that it will steadily and surely recover from weeks of negative output caused by a violent storm that severely hit the country last month.
