PFDA Weekly Fish Unloading for April 26 to May 2, 2021 period and Volume of Fish Sold at isDA ON THE GO (iOTG) outlets as of May 4, 2021

The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) Regional Fish Ports (RFP) registered a 35.39% increase in unloading volume equivalent to 12,453.22 metric tons (MT) during the April 26 to May 2, 2021 period.

Based on a two-week comparative report from the Operations Services Department (OSD), General Santos Fish Port Complex (PFDA-GSFPC) and Bulan Fish Port Complex (PFDA-BFPC) were the top contributors to this week’s growth by unloading 6,446.49 MT (68.28% increase) and 1,780.87 MT (77.95% increase), respectively. 

Meanwhile, Lucena Fish Port Complex (PFDA-LFPC) unloaded 301.59 MT, an 18.55% increase compared to last week’s drop in unloading record. 

In terms of percentage increase, Zamboanga Fish Port Complex (PFDA-ZFPC) and Davao Fish Port Complex (PFDA-DFPC) took the top spots at 191.51% (83.75 MT) and 100.56% (78.46 MT), respectively. 

On the other hand, Navotas Fish Port Complex (PFDA-NFPC) still hangs back by 8.36% this week but still managed to unload 3,330.10 MT of fish supply for all its consumers. In addition, Iloilo Fish Port Complex (PFDA-IFPC) performed well despite being 1.16% shy away from the positive trend with 405.72 MT of unloaded fish. 

Furthermore, Sual Fish Port (PFDA-SFP) returned to fishing following last week’s super typhoon and unloaded 26.25 MT of fish. 

In line with the volume increase in RFPs, the agency’s isDA ON THE GO (iOTG) project continuously offers quality and low-cost fish to its consumers within Metro Manila and selected areas in Luzon. 

According to the report, the iOTG project has already sold a total of 109,056.47 kilograms of affordable fish and fishery products and has served more than 387,274 families since the start of the pandemic last March 2020.
