The PFDA celebrated its 42nd founding anniversary last August 09, 2018, with this year’s theme “Fishtahan sa Pondohan”. The anniversary celebration was held at the Market Hall 1 of the Navotas Fish Port Complex (NFPC) and spearheaded by PFDA General Manger, Atty. Glen A. Pangapalan and PFDA Assistant General Manager Atty. Loralie C. Datahan. The celebration was held two days before the actual foundation date, August 11, which falls on a Saturday.
The festivities were graced by the presence of Hon. Christopher Bong Go, Special Assistant to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, as the keynote speaker, PFDA Clients/Stakeholders, Port Managers of PFDA’s regional fish ports and PFDA employees. In his message SAP Go emphasized that “The President’s Priority Projects (Infrastructure Flagship Projects) includes the PFDA’s upgrading/rehabilitation of Navotas Fish Port Complex (NFPC) which was included in the 2019 National Expenditure Program and it will be implemented from 2019 to 2023”. He also added that “this project will help the PFDA achieve effective and sustainable post-harvest facilities and infrastructure, contributing to enhanced competitiveness in the fisheries sector”.

One of the highlights of the anniversary ceremony was the awarding of NFPC ISO 9001:2015 certification. Ms. Laarni T. Narido - Business Development and Client Relations Manager/Systems Auditor of Anglo Japanese American (AJA) Registrars Inc. handed over the ISO certificates to GM Pangapalan and AGM Datahan and witnessed by SAP Bong Go. |

The weeklong celebration included a Thanksgiving Mass, Awarding of Retirement and Service Awards, Opening of Tiangge at the NFPC, and the simultaneous Environmental Consciousness/Awareness Activity at the NFPC and regional fish ports, participated by PFDA officials and employees as well as clients/stakeholders.
