In a bid to further expand project isDA ON THE GO’s (iOTG) operation nationwide, Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), led by General Manager Atty. Glen A. Pangapalan, hosted a partnership meeting with the members of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to discuss collaboration opportunities with eligible cooperatives under CDA on September 14, 2021.
The partnership proposal for an iOTG joint effort was well-received by both parties. As a result, a Memorandum of Understanding and a Technical Working Group will soon be developed as agreed upon to initiate the inter-agency collaboration.
During the meeting, CDA Chairperson Usec. Joseph B. Encabo suggested launching the isDA ON THE GO Program with CDA in October, as this will be in time with the Cooperative Month.
An estimated sixty (60) cooperatives within the NCR will take part during the initial phase of the PFDA - CDA project isDA ON THE GO partnership, with more slated for CY 2022.
The iOTG is PFDA's flagship Corporate Social Responsibility project aiming to deliver high-quality fresh-frozen fishery products to consumers at very affordable prices.
CDA’s Oversite Head on Consumer Marketing, Asec. Pendatun Disimban, Oversite Head on Agri and Aquaculture, Asec. Virgilio Lazaga, Deputy Administrator for Institutional Development, Mr. Ray Elevazo, and other representatives from CDA also took part in the meeting. For PFDA, Acting Assistant General Manager Ms. Iris R. De Vera, Legal Division Officer-In-Charge Atty. Jose A. Ruiz III, Operations Services Department (OSD) Manager Mr. Eric M. Sims, Regional & Municipal Project Operations Division – OSD Chief Ms. Janet T. Manalo, and Quality Assurance Division - OSD Officer-In-Charge Mr. Emilio Paul M. Candelaria were also present.
